PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

St. Charles County Government anticipates applying for Disaster Recovery (DR) funds  through the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to assist  homeowners recovering from flooding that inundated approximately 90,000 acres across the  county from April 29 to July 5, 2019 (Federal Disaster 4451-DR-MO). If the application is  successful, the County will use the funds to purchase flood-damaged homes to reduce the  impacts of future flooding by removing homes located within flood zones designated by the  Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Purchases would be considered only on  interest and consent of the homeowner.

St. Charles County Government will hold a meeting to inform residents about the Local  Voluntary Buyout Project (LVBOP). This meeting will help the County staff define the Buyout  Zone by determining the public interest and desire to participate in the LVBOP.
